Ousewem unveils powerful video collaboration with The Artery

Ousewem is proud to unveil an insightful video created in partnership with The Artery, a champion for creativity and collaboration in North Yorkshire's rural and coastal communities.
We joined forces with The Artery, with the shared goal of sparking meaningful conversations among farmers, landowners, and communities regarding the vital link between land use and flood risk. Ousewem's mission to connect communities through water aligns perfectly with The Artery's ethos of fostering dialogue and awareness.
The partnership aimed to delve into key areas, including strategic development, communication, audience engagement, and creative upskilling. Through this collaboration, they sought to shed light on pressing issues such as the perception of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and Natural Flood Management (NFM) among stakeholders.
Local filmmakers Ruth Garrett and Billy White were tapped to bring this vision to life. With their deep roots in the Yorkshire Dales and firsthand understanding of rural life, Ruth and Billy were uniquely positioned to capture the essence of the challenges and opportunities facing farmers and landowners.
Artist and filmmaker, Ruth, speaks with North Yorkshire land managers to hear about their potential and ongoing NFM projects.
The resulting film is a poignant portrayal of the issues at hand, demonstrating The Artery's ability to navigate complex topics and drive positive change. Through compelling storytelling and visual imagery, the video invites viewers to explore the intersections of land use, flood risk, and community resilience.
Ousewem thanks all at The Artery for our shared journey of creativity, collaboration, and positive change. By leveraging the power of film and storytelling, we are paving the way for constructive dialogue and collective action.
